Campus Life & Dorm Vocabulary

¡Felicidades, entraste! Ahora viene lo difícil: sobrevivir al primer semestre. El sistema universitario anglosajón tiene términos muy específicos que debes conocer.

Academic Terms

  • Major vs. Minor: Tu Major es tu carrera principal (ej. Computer Science). Tu Minor es un área secundaria de estudio (ej. History).
  • Syllabus: El documento más sagrado. Contiene todas las fechas de exámenes y tareas. Léelo el primer día.
  • Credits: Cada clase te otorga créditos. Necesitas un número específico para graduarte.

People on Campus

  • Professor/Instructor: Tu maestro de clase.
  • TA (Teaching Assistant): Un estudiante de posgrado que ayuda con las calificaciones y dudas.
  • The Dean: El jefe de una facultad o departamento.
  • Registrar: Donde pides tus notas oficiales y manejas tu inscripción.
