Levantar capital (Fundraising) es un trabajo de tiempo completo para un CEO. Debes entender los términos que los VCs usan o podrías perder el control de tu empresa.

The Stages of Funding

  1. Bootstrapping: Usas tus propios ahorros. Tienes el 100% del control.
  2. Angel Round: Individuos ricos invierten pequeñas cantidades al inicio.
  3. Seed Round: La primera ronda institucional para validar el mercado.
  4. Series A, B, C...: Rondas más grandes para escalar agresivamente.

Critical Concepts

  • Valuation: ¿Cuánto vale tu empresa hoy? (Pre-money) ¿Y después de la inversión? (Post-money).
  • Equity: Lo que vendes a cambio del dinero. Recuerda: "100% of zero is zero. 5% of a billion is a lot."
  • Burn Rate & Runway: Si gastas $10k al mes (Burn Rate) y tienes $120k en el banco, tu Runway es de 12 meses. ¡Muévete rápido!
